Overdose: Do not hesitate to call 911 for medical emergencies involving substance use. If you or someone you know has overdosed, calling 911 as soon as possible could help save a life. Naloxone (Narcan®) is medication that could immediately counter the effects of an opioid/heroin overdose. You can administer it while someone is overdosing and should call 911 immediately. Many emergency personnel carry it with them, and it is also available from select pharmacies without a prescription. Ask your health care provider or local pharmacy for more information
