Election Day Is Nov. 3 But Don’t Delay, Vote Early!

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, but Sacramento County voters are encouraged to treat every day between now and then like Election Day and vote early! Whether returning a completed mail ballot or voting in person, there are several convenient ways for eligible voters to make their voices heard before Election Day.

Beginning Saturday, Oct. 24, 19 Vote Center locations will open throughout Sacramento County. At any Vote Center, county residents can register to vote, request a replacement ballot, vote in person or use an accessible ballot-marking device. Hours vary by location and date, so voters should check the Vote Center locations and hours before visiting.

Voter Registration and Elections (VRE) staff will also be at the Downtown Sacramento Partnership’s Movies Under the Stars events, every Thursday and Friday through the end of the month, where voters can drop off their completed ballots and pick up a fun, event-specific “I Voted” sticker.

Voters who have received their mail ballots can return them at an official Ballot Drop Box. Each location has specific hours of operation, so check the details before heading out.

Voters may also return their completed ballots using the prepaid postage-paid envelope provided with their ballot. Mailed ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day, Nov. 3, and received by the County elections office no later than Tuesday, Nov. 10. Be sure to sign the ballot return envelope for your vote to be counted. To avoid potential mail delays, voters are encouraged to return their ballots as early as possible.

For more information, visit the Sacramento County Voter Registration and Elections website or call (916) 875-6451. Voters may also call the toll-free voter assistance hotline at (800) 762-8019, which can connect voters with disabilities to TTY services.
